شحث: الأَزهري: قال الليث بَلَغنا أَن شَحِيثا كلمةٌ سُرْيانية، وأَنه

تَنْفَتِح بها الأَغالِيقُ بلا مَفاتيح.

وفي الحديث: هَلُمِّي المُدْية فَاشْحَثِيها بحَجَر أَي حُدِّيها

وسُنِّيها، ويقال بالذال.
