الشاهد: هو في اللغة عبارة عن الحاضر، وفي اصطلاح القوم: عبارة عما كان حاضرًا في قلب الإنسان، وغلب عليه ذكره؛ فإن كان الغالب عليه العلم فهو شاهد العلم، وإن كان الغالب عليه الحق، فهو شاهد الحق.
