سَحِيل:
بفتح أوّله، وكسر ثانيه ثمّ ياء مثناة من تحت، وهو الغزل الذي لم يبرم، قال زهير:
على كل حال من سحيل ومبرم
وهي أرض بين الكوفة والشام وكان النعمان بن المنذر يحمي بها العشب لنجائبه.
