سَتَلَ القومُ، واسْتَتَلوا وتَساتَلوا: خَرَجوا مُتَتابعينَ واحداً بعدَ واحدٍ،
وكلُّ ما جَرَى قَطَراناً كالدَّمْعِ واللُّؤْلُؤِ: فَساتِلٌ. وكمَقْعَدٍ: الطريقُ الضَّيِّقُ.
والسَّتَلُ، محرَّكةً: العُقابُ، أو طائرٌ شَبيهٌ به، أَو بالنَّسْرِ، ج: سُتْلانٌ، بالضم والكسر، والتَّبَعُ.
وساتَلَ: تابَعَ.
والسُّتالَةُ، بالضم: الرُّذالَةُ.
والمَسْتولُ: المَسْلوتُ.
