سنكرى: عامية تنكاري (محيط المحيط) ومعناها صانع البورق أي ملح الصاغة، وصاحب محيط المحيط يذكر هذا المعنى. غير أن بوشر يقول إنه يعني التنكي (التنكجي)، السمكري. فالكلمة إذن نسبة إلى التنك (انظر الكلمة).
حداد سنكري: قفّال، صانع الأقفال (همبرت ص85) وانظرها في مادة سكر.
