وسنبذ بن دَاوود، مَعْرُوف، قَالَه الذَّهبِيّ. قلت: وَهُوَ لَقَبٌ، واسمُه الحُسين بن دَاوُود، وَهُوَ من شُيُوخ البُخَارِيّ، قَالَه الْحَافِظ، وَولده جَعْفَر بن سنبذ، حَدَّثَ.
