سنامورة: صبر، بلم، انشوفة (بوشر، همبرت ص69) وفيه: ايضاً سَنمُورة، وفي محيط المحيط سَنَمورة ويظهر أن هذه الكلمة تحريف للكلمة الأسبانية سالمورا ( salmuera) وقد أطلقت هذه الكلمة على الصير لأنه يؤكل منقوعا بالماء المملح.
