سمسر: سَمْسَرَة: كان على فريتاج ان يذكر الجزء الثاني من كتاب هابيشت بدلاً من الجزء الأول منه.
سِمْسَرَة: خان، فندق تنزل به القوافل (رتجرز ص71، نيبور بلاد العرب 1: 332، 333، 337، 378).
سَماسِرِيّ: سمسار، دلاّل (شيرب).

(هـ) فِي حَدِيثِ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي غَرَزة «كُنَّا نسَمَّى السَّمَاسِرَةَ عَلَى عهدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، فسَّمانا التُّجار» السَّمَاسِرَةُ: جَمْعُ سِمْسَار، وَهُوَ القَيِّم بالأمْر الْحَافِظُ لَهُ، وَهُوَ فِي البَيْع اسمٌ لِلَّذِي يَدخل بَيْنَ الْبَائِعِ وَالْمُشْتَرِي مُتَوَسِّطا لإمْضاءِ البَيعِ . والسَّمْسَرَةُ:
البيعُ والشِراء.
وَمِنْهُ حَدِيثُ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ فِي تَفْسِيرِ قَوْلِهِ «لَا يَبِعْ حاضرٌ لبادٍ» قَالَ: لَا يَكُونُ لَهُ سِمْسَاراً.
