سبسب: سبسب الشعر: جعَّده، وهي من اصطلاح الحلاقين وصانعي الشعر المستعار (بوشر).
تسبسب: تجعَّد (بوشر) غير أن صاحب محيط المحيط يقول: والعامة تقول: تسبسب الشعر أي انسدل واسترسل.
سَبْسَب وسِبسِب: قط بري (بوشر)، دومب ص65، جاكسون ص36) سبسبة الشعر: تجعيده (بوشر).
سباسيب الشعر: أطرافه المنسدلة (محيط المحيط).

(س) فِيهِ «أبْدَلكُم اللهُ تَعَالَى بيَوم السَّبَاسِبِ يومَ العِيد» يومُ السَّبَاسِبُ عيدٌ للنَّصارى، ويسمُّونه السَّعاَنِين.
(س) وَفِي حَدِيثِ قُس «فَبَيْنَا أَنَا أجُول سَبْسَبَهَا» السَّبْسَبُ: القَفْر، والمفَازَة. ويُرْوى بَسْبَسَها، وَهُمَا بِمَعْنًى.
