زهف


زَهَفَ(n. ac. زُهُوْف)
a. Was mean, vile, contemptible.
b. Lied.
c. Perished.
d. [Ila], Drew near to ( a person: death ).

زَهِفَ(n. ac. زَهَف)
a. Was light, nimble, swift.
b. Carried away, swept off.

أَزْهَفَa. Was treacherous, malicious, evil-disposed.
b. [acc. & Bi], Led into (evil); did (
evil ) to.
c. ['Ala], Dispatched ( wounded man ).
d. Spoilt, destroyed.

تَزَهَّفَ
a. ['An], Withdrew, retired from.

زَهِفَ، كفرِحَ: خَفَّ،
وـ الريحُ الشيءَ: اسْتَخَفَّتْهُ. وكمنَع زُهوفاً: ذَلَّ،
وـ للموتِ: دنَا،
كازْدَهَفَ، وكَذَبَ، وهَلَكَ، وكمِنْبَرٍ: مِجْدَحُ السَّوِيق.
وأزْهَفَ: ألْقَى شَرّاً،
وـ إليه الطَّعْنَةَ: أدْناها،
وـ له حَديثاً: أتاهُ بالكَذِبِ،
وـ عليه: أجْهَزَ،
وـ بالشَّرِّ: أغْرَى،
وـ بما طَلَبَه: أسْعَفَهُ به،
وـ الخَبَرَ: زادَ فيه، وكَذَبَ، ونَمَّ، وأذَلَّ، وخانَ، وأسْرَعَ إلى الشَّرِّ،
وـ الشيءَ: ذهَبَ به، وأهْلَكَهُ،
وـ بالشيءِ: أعْجبَ به،
وـ إليه حَديثاً: أسْنَدَ إليه قَوْلاً رَديئاً،
وـ فلانَةُ إليه: أعْجَبَتْهُ.
وازْدَهَفَ: احْتَمَلَ، وانْحَرَفَ، واسْتَعْجَلَ، واسْتَخَفَّ، وتَقَحَّمَ في الدُّخولِ، وتَزَيَّدَ في الكلامِ، وصَدَّ،
كتَزَهَّفَ،
وـ الشيءَ: ذَهَبَ به، وأهْلَكَهُ،
وـ في قولِه: تَشَدَّدَ، ورَفَعَ صوتَهُ،
وـ فلاناً بالقَوْلِ: أبْطَلَ قولَهُ،
وـ الدابَّةُ فلاناً: صَرَعَتْهُ،
وـ العَداوةَ: اكْتَسَبهَا.
والنْزِهافُ: طَفْرُ الدابةِ من نِفارٍ أو ضَرْبٍ.

(زَهَفَ) الزَّاءُ وَالْهَاءُ وَالْفَاءُ أَصْلٌ يَدُلُّ عَلَى ذَهَابِ الشَّيْءِ. يُقَالُ ازْدَهَفَ الشَّيْءَ، وَذَلِكَ إِذَا ذَهَبَ بِهِ. قَالَتِ امْرَأَةٌ مِنَ الْعَرَبِ:

يَا مَنْ أَحَسَّ بُنَيَّيَّ اللَّذَيْنِ هُمَا ... سَمْعِي وَمُخِّي فَمُخِّيَ الْيَوْمَ مُزْدَهَفُ

وَيُقَالُ مِنْهُ أَزْهَفَهُ الْمَوْتُ، وَمِنَ الْبَابِ ازْدَهَفَهُ، إِذَا اسْتَعْجَلَهُ. قَالَ:

قَوْلُكَ أَقْوَالًا مَعَ التَّحْلَافِ ... فِيهِ ازْدِهَافٌ أَيُّمَا ازْدِهَافِ

وَقَالَ قَوْمٌ: الِازْدِهَافُ التَّزَيُّدُ فِي الْكَلَامِ. فَإِنْ كَانَ صَحِيحًا فَلِأَنَّهُ ذَهَابٌ عَنِ الْحَقِّ وَمُجَاوَزَةٌ لَهُ.
