[زبد] الزبَدُ: زَبَدُ الماءِ والبعيرِ والفضة وغيرها. والزَبَدَةُ أَخصُّ منه. تقول: أَزْبَدَ الشَرابُ. وبحرٌ مُزْبِدٌ، أي مائِجٌ يقذف بالزَبد. وأَزْبَدَ السِدْرُ: أي نوَّرَ. والزُبْدُ بالضم: زبد اللبن. الزبدة أخص منه. وزَبَدْتُ الرجل أَزْبِدهُ بالكسر زَبْداً، أي رَضختُ له من مال. وفي الحديث: " إنَّا لا نقبلُ زَبْدَ المشركينَ "، أي رِفْدَهُمْ. وزَبَدتِ المرأةُ سِقَاءَها، أي مَخَضَتْهُ حتى يخرُجَ زُبْدُهُ. وَزَبَدْتُهُ أزْبُدُهُ بالضم، أي أطعمته الزُبدَ. وتَزْبيدُ القطن: تنفيشُهُ. وزَبَّدَ شِدْقُ فلان وتَزَبَّدَ، بمعنىً ويقال: تَزَبَّدَ اليَمينَ، إذا أسرع إليها. وزُبَّادُ اللبن، بالضم والتشديد: ما لا خير فيه، وفي المثل: " اختلط الخاثر بالزُبَّادِ ". والزُبَّادُ أيضاً: نَبْتٌ، وكذلك الزُبَّادى. ومزبد: اسم رجل. وزبيد بالضم: بطن من مذحج، رهط عمرو بن معدى كرب الزبيدى. وزبيد بفتح الزاى: مدينة بالمين.
