واسمه عبد الملك بن يزيد: ببغداد في شارع دار الرقيق في الدرب النافذ إلى دار عبد الله بن طاهر، وكان أبو عون من موالي المنصور، وكان يتولى له مصر ثمّ عزل عنها.
