ربن: أرْبَنْتُ الرَّجُلَ: أعْطَيْته رَبُوناً وهو دَخِيْلٌ، وهو الأُرْبَانُ.
وأرْبَنْتُ: أسْلَفْت.
والمُرَبَّنُ: الذي عليه الرَّابَنَانُ وهو كهَيْئَةِ السَّرَاوِيْلِ.
ويُسَمَّى سُكّانُ السَّفِيْنَةِ رُبّاناً، وجَمْعُه رَبَابِنَةٌ.
والرُّبّانُ: رُكْنٌ ضُخَامٌ من أَجَأٍ وسَلْمى؛ سُمِّيَ به لارْتِفَاعِه.
والإِرْبِيَانُ: سَمَكَةٌ حَمْرَاءُ نَحْوُ الإِصْبَعِ المَعْقُوْفَةِ.
