ذ ف ر : ذَفِرَ الشَّيْءُ ذَفَرًا فَهُوَ ذَفِرٌ مِنْ بَابِ تَعِبَ وَامْرَأَةٌ ذَفِرَةٌ ظَهَرَتْ رَائِحَتُهَا وَاشْتَدَّتْ طَيِّبَةً كَانَتْ كَالْمِسْكِ أَوْ كَرِيهَةً كَالصُّنَانِ قَالُوا وَلَا يُسَكَّنُ الْمَصْدَرُ إلَّا لِلْمَرَّةِ الْوَاحِدَةِ إذَا دَخَلَهَا هَاءُ التَّأْنِيثِ فَيُقَالُ ذَفْرَةٌ وَقَالَتْ أَعْرَابِيَّةٌ تَهْجُو شَيْخًا أَدْبَرَ ذَفَرُهُ وَأَقْبَلَ بَخَرُهُ.
