من قرى غوطة دمشق، قال ابن عساكر في تاريخه: عثمان بن أبان بن عثمان بن حرب بن عبد
الرحمن بن الحكم بن أبي العاصي بن أمية كان يسكن دير أبان عند قرحتاء، وهو منسوب إلى أبيه أبان، ذكره ابن أبي العجائز.
