[دوأ] الداء: المرض، والجمع أدواءٌ. وقد داءَ الرجلُ يَداءُ داءً: مَرِضَ، فهو داءٌ. وقد دِئْتَ يا رَجُلُ، وأَدَأْتَ أيضاً: فأنت مدئ، وأدأته، أنا: أي أصبته بداءٍ، يتعدَّى ولا يتعدَّى. أبو زيد: تقول للرجل إذا اتهمتَهُ: قد أَدَأْتَ إداءَةً وأَدْوَأْتَ إدْواءً. وقولهم: به داءٌ ظَبْي، معناه: أنه ليس به داءٌ كما لاداء بالظبى.
