دلعث: بعير دِلَعْثٌ: ضَخْمٌ. ودَلَعْثى: كثير اللحم والوَبَر مع شِدَّة

وصلابة. الأَزهري: الدَّلْعَثُ الجملُ الضَّخم؛ وأَنشد:

دِلاثٌ دَلَعْثَى، كأَنَّ عِظامَه

وَعَتْ في مَحالِ الزَّوْرِ بعدَ كُسُورِ
