(س) فِي حَدِيثِ أَبِي مَرْثَد «فَقَالَتْ عَنَاقُ البَغِيُّ: يَا أهْل الخِيام هَذَا الدُّلْدُلُ الَّذِي يَحْمِل أسْرَارَكم» الدُّلْدُلُ: القُنْفُذ. وَقِيلَ ذَكَر القنَافذ، يَحْتمل أنَّها شَبَّهَتْه بالقُنْفُذ لِأَنَّهُ أكثَر مَا يَظْهر فِي اللَّيل، وَلِأَنَّهُ يُخْفي رَأسَه فِي جَسَدِهِ مَا اسْتَطاع. ودَلْدَلَ فِي الْأَرْضِ: ذهَب. ومَرَّ يُدَلْدِلُ ويَتَدَلْدَلُ فِي مَشْيه إِذَا اضْطَرب.
وَمِنْهُ الْحَدِيثُ «كَانَ اسْم بَغْلَتِه عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ دُلْدُلًا» .
