دغم: داغم. مداغمة الحروف: إدغامها وإدخال بعضها في بعض (بوشر).
اندغم: ذكرها فوك في مادة معناها أدخل، وفيه أدخل الكلمة في الكلمة والحرف في الحرف. وقد تكرر ذكر الكلمة في كتاب أبي الوليد في (ص128، 140، 409) مثلاً. دَغَم، ويجمع على إدغام: وجه، مرأى، وقفزة الحمامة. وشَعْر متساقط. (الكالا).

(دَغَمَ) الدَّالُ وَالْغَيْنُ وَالْمِيمُ أَصْلَانِ: أَحَدُهُمَا مِنْ بَابِ الْأَلْوَانِ، وَالْآخَرُ دُخُولُ شَيْءٍ فِي مَدْخَلٍ مَا.

فَالْأَوَّلُ الدُّغْمَةُ فِي الْخَيْلِ: أَنْ يُخَالِفَ لَوْنُ الْوَجْهِ لَوْنَ سَائِرِ الْجَسَدِ. وَلَا يَكُونُ إِلَّا سَوَادًا. وَمِنْ أَمْثَالِ الْعَرَبِ: " الذِّئْبُ أَدْغَمُ ". تَفْسِيرُ ذَلِكَ أَنَّهُ أَدْغَمُ وَلَغَ أَوْ لَمْ يَلَغْ. فَالدُّغْمَةُ لَازِمَةٌ لَهُ، فَرُبَّمَا قِيلَ قَدْ وَلَغَ وَهُوَ جَائِعٌ. يُضْرَبُ هَذَا مَثَلًا لَمِنْ يُغْبَطُ بِمَا لَمْ يَنَلْهُ. وَمِنْ هَذَا الْبَابِ دَغَمَهُمُ الْحَرُّ، إِذَا غَشِيَهُمْ; لِأَنَّهُ يُغَيِّرُ الْأَلْوَانَ.

وَالْأَصْلُ الْآخَرُ: قَوْلُهُمْ أَدْغَمْتُ اللِّجَامَ فِي فَمِ الْفَرَسِ، إِذَا أَدْخَلْتَهُ فِيهِ. وَمِنْهُ الْإِدْغَامُ فِي الْحُرُوفِ. وَالدَّغْمُ: كَسْرُ الْأَنْفِ [إِلَى] بَاطِنِهِ هَشْمًا.
