[دعق] دُعِقَ الطريقُ فهو مَدْعوقٌ، أي كثر عليه الوطئ. ودعقته الدواب: أثرت فيه. يقال: دعقت الإبل الحوضَ دَعْقاً، إذا خبطتْه حتَّى ثلَّمَتْه من جوانبه. والدَعْقَةُ: جماعةٌ من الإبل. وخيلٌ مَداعيقُ: تدوس القومَ في الغارات. والدَعْقُ أيضاً: الهَيْجُ والتنفير. وقد دَعَقَهُ دَعْقاً، ولا يقال: أَدْعَقَهُ. وأمَّا قول لبيد في جميع حافظى عَوْراتِهِمْ لا يَهُمُّونَ بأَدْعاقِ الشَلَلْ فيقال: هو جمع دَعْقٍ، وهو مصدر فتوهَّمه اسماً. أي أنَّهم إذا فزِعوا لا يُنفِّرون إبلَهم فيهربون، ولكن يجمعونها ويقاتلون دونها لعزهم.
