(دَحَسَ) الدَّالُ وَالْحَاءُ وَالسِّينُ أَصْلٌ مُطَّرِدٌ مُنْقَاسٌ، وَهُوَ تَخَلُّلُ الشَّيْءِ بِالشَّيْءِ فِي خَفَاءٍ وَرِفْقٍ. فَالدَّحْسُ: طَلَبُ الشَّيْءِ فِي خَفَاءٍ. وَمِنْ ذَلِكَ دَحَسْتُ بَيْنَ الْقَوْمِ، إِذَا أَفْسَدْتَ; وَلَا يَكُونُ هَذَا إِلَّا بِرِفْقٍ وَوَسْوَاسٍ لَطِيفٍ خَفِيٍّ. وَيُقَالُ الدَّحْسُ: إِدْخَالُكَ يَدَكَ بَيْنَ جِلْدَةِ الشَّاةِ وَصِفَاقِهَا تَسْلُخُهَا. وَالدَّحَّاسُ: دُوَيْبَّةٌ تَغِيبُ فِي التُّرَابِ، وَالْجَمْعُ دَحَاحِيسُ. وَدَاحِسٌ: اسْمُ فَرَسٍ; وَسُمِّيَ بِذَلِكَ لِأَنَّ حَوْطًا سَطَا عَلَى أُمِّهِ - أُمِّ دَاحِسٍ - بِمَاءٍ وَطِينٍ، يُرِيدُ أَنْ يُخْرِجَ مَاءَ فَرَسِهِ مِنَ الرَّحِمِ. وَلَهُ حَدِيثٌ.
