دحرج: الدُّحْروجة: كلّ ما دحرجته من طين أو غيره مثل البندقة المدوّرة، وجمعه: دَحاريجُ. قال الشاعر: 

أَشْداقُها كصُدُوعِ النَّبعِ في قُلَلٍ ... مِثْلِ الدَّحاريجِ لم يَنْبُتْ لها زَغَبُ

شبَّهَ رءوسَ الفِراخِ بالدّحاريج.
