دبع: دّبوع: عثة الأطعمة، دويبة صغيرة (بوشر). دابع: لاوجود لهذه اللفظة في اللغة وإنما تذكر اتباعاً للفظة تابع فيقال: التابع والدابع بمعنى كل الناس. (معجم هابيشت في تعليقه على الجزء الثالث من طبعته الثانية لألف ليلة وليلة). وفي طبعة ماكن: التابع والمتبوع.
