بضم أوله، وتسكين ثانيه: بليد بأرض الشاش من نواحي ما وراء النهر، ينسب إليها أبو الرجاء المؤمّل بن مسرور الشاشي الخمركي، روى عن أبي المظفر السمعاني، سمع منه خلق كثير، وتوفي بمرو سنة 516.
