خَيْلٌ شُمُس: بضم الميم جمعُ شموس هو الذي يمنع ظهره أي لا يترك أحداً يركبه. وفي "المجتمع": "هو بسكون الميم وضمها أي التي تضطرب بأذنابها وأرجلها".
