الخشوع والخضوع والتواضع: بمعنى واحد، وفي اصطلاح أهل الحقيقة: الخشوع: الانقياد للحق، وقيل: هو الخوف الدائم في القلب، وقيل: من علامات الخشوع أن العبد إذا غضب أو خولف أو رُدَّ عليه استقبل ذلك بالقبول.
