[خزا] خَزاهُ يَخْزوهُ خَزْواً: ساسه وقهره. قال ذو الإصبع: لاهِ ابنُ عَمِّكَ لا أَفْضَلْتَ في حَسَبٍ * عَنِّي ولا أنت دَيَّاني فتَخْزوني أي ولا أنت مالِكُ أمري فتسوسَني. وخزيَ بالكسر يَخْزى خِزْياً، أي ذَلَّ وهان. وقال ابن السكيت: وقع في بليّةٍ. وأخزاه الله. قال لبيد: غير أن لا تكذبنها في التقى * واخزها بالبر لله الاجل قال الكسائي: خازانى فلان فَخَزَيْتُهُ أَخْزِيهِ، وكرهتُ أن أَخْزِيَهُ. وخَزيَ أيضاً يَخْزى خَزايَةً، أي استحياءً، فهو خَزْيانُ. وقوم خزايا، وامرأة خزياء. قال جرير وإن حمى لم يحمه غير فرتنا * وغير ابن ذى الكيرين خزيان ضائع أبو عبيد: الخزاء بالمد: نبت.
