(خدن) - قوله تبارك وتعالى: {وَلَا مُتَّخِذَاتِ أَخْدَانٍ} .
الأَخْدان: الأَصْدِقَاء، الواحد خِدْنٌ، ومثله خَدِينٌ وجَمعُه خُدَنَاء، وقد خَادَنتُه، وخِدْنُ الجَارِية: مَنْ يُحدِّثُها ويَصادِقُها، والخُدَنَة: المُتَّخِذُ أَخدانًا.

(خَدَنَ) الْخَاءُ وَالدَّالُ وَالنُّونُ أَصْلٌ وَاحِدٌ، وَهُوَ الْمُصَاحَبَةُ. فَالْخِدْنُ: الصَّاحِبُ. يُقَالُ: خَادَنْتُ الرَّجُلَ مُخَادَنَةً. وَخِدْنُ الْجَارِيَةِ مُحَدِّثُهَا.

قَالَ أَبُو زَيْدٍ: خَادَنْتُ الرَّجُلَ صَادَقْتُهُ. وَرَجُلٌ خُدَنَةٌ: كَثِيرُ الْأَخْدَانِ.
