(ح ن ف) : (الْأَحْنَفُ) الَّذِي أَقْبَلَتْ إحْدَى إبْهَامَيْ رِجْلَيْهِ عَلَى الْأُخْرَى (وعَنْ) ابْنِ دُرَيْدٍ الْحَنَفُ انْقِلَابُ ظَهْرِ الْقَدَمِ حَتَّى يَصِيرَ بَطْنًا وَأَصْلُهُ الْمَيْلُ (وَبِتَصْغِيرِهِ) سُمِّيَ وَالِدُ سَهْلٍ وَعُثْمَانُ بْنُ حُنَيْفٍ وَحَنِيفَةُ تَحْرِيفٌ (وَمِنْهُ) الْحَنِيفُ الْمَائِلُ عَنْ كُلِّ دِينٍ بَاطِلٍ إلَى دِينِ الْحَقِّ وَقَوْلُهُمْ الْحَنِيفُ الْمُسْلِمُ الْمُسْتَقِيمُ تَدْرِيس وَقَدْ غَلَبَ هَذَا الْوَصْفُ عَلَى إبْرَاهِيمَ - عَلَيْهِ السَّلَامُ - حَتَّى نُسِبَ إلَيْهِ مَنْ هُوَ عَلَى دِينِهِ (وَمِنْهُ) حَدِيثُ عُمَرَ - رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ - لِلنَّصْرَانِيِّ وَأَنَا الشَّيْخُ الْحَنِيفِيُّ (قَوْلُهُ الَّذِي يُقْتَلُ بِالْحَنِقِ وَصَوَابُهُ بِالْخَنْقِ) فِي (غ و) .
