(حَلَطَ) الْحَاءُ وَاللَّامُ وَالطَّاءُ أَصْلٌ وَاحِدٌ: وَهُوَ الِاجْتِهَادُ فِي الشَّيْءِ بِحَلِفٍ أَوْ ضَجَرٍ. وَيُقَالُ أَحَلْطَ، إِذَا اجْتَهَدَ وَحَلَفَ. قَالَ ابْنُ أَحْمَرَ:

فَكُنَّا وَهُمْ كَابْنَيْ سُبَاتٍ تَفَرَّقَا ... سِوًى ثُمَّ كَانَا مُنْجِدًا وَتِهَامِيَا

فَأَلْقَى التِّهَامِي مِنْهُمَا بَلَطَاتِهِ ... وَأَحْلَطَ هَذَا لَا أَرِيمُ مَكَانِيَا

وَ " لَا أَعُودُ وَرَائِيًا ".

وَمِنَ الْبَابِ قَوْلُهُمْ: " أَوَّلُ الْعِيِّ الِاخْتِلَاطُ، وَأَسْوَأُ الْقَوْلِ الْإِفْرَاطُ ". فَالِاخْتِلَاطُ: الْغَضَبُ.
