حضل: حَضِلَت النخلةُ حَضَلاً: فَسَدَتْ أُصُولُ سَعَفِها، وصلاحُها أَن
تُشْعَل النار في كَرَبَها حتى يحترق ما فسد من لِيفِها وسَعَفِها ثم
تَجُود بعد ذلك. قال الأَزهري: يقال حَضِلَتْ وحَظِلَت، بالضاد والظاء،
وافيفي أَعلم.
