(حَجَفَ) الْحَاءُ وَالْجِيمُ وَالْفَاءُ كَلِمَةٌ وَاحِدَةٌ لَا قِيَاسَ، وَهِيَ الْحَجَفَةُ، وَهِيَ التُّرْسُ الصَّغِيرُ يُطَارَقُ بَيْنَ جِلْدَيْنِ وَتُجْعَلُ مِنْهُمَا حَجَفَةٌ. وَالْجَمْعُ حَجَفٌ. قَالَ:

أَيَمْنَعُنَا الْقَوْمُ مَاءَ الْفُرَاتِ ... وَفِينَا السُّيُوفُ وَفِينَا الْحَجَفْ
