جِيخَنُ:
بالكسر ثم السكون، وفتح الخاء المعجمة، ونون: من قرى مرو على أربعة فراسخ منها ينسب إليها أبو عبد الله محمد بن أحمد بن الحسن المعلم الجيخني الخلّال، شيخ صالح، سمع أبا المظفر السمعاني، سمع منه أبو سعد وأبو القاسم الدمشقي وقال: توفي سنة 539.
