بفتح الجيمين، وهو في اللغة القاع المستدير الواسع قال عرّام بن الأصبغ: إذا خرجت من مرّ الظهران تؤم مكة منحدرا من ثنية يقال لها الجفجف وتنحدر في حدّ مكة في واد يقال له تربة.
