جنبل: الجُنْبُل: العُسُّ الضَّخْم الخَشِبُ النَّحْت الذي لم يَسْتَو؛

وأَنشد:

مَلْمومة لَمًّا كظَهْرِ الجُنْبُل

الجُنْبُل والمِجْوَل: القَدَح الضَّخم. والجُنْبُل: قَدَح غليظ من خشب؛

وأَنشد أَبو عمرو لأَبي الغريب النصري:

وكُلْ هَنِيئاً ثم لا تُزَمِّل،

وادْعُ، هُدِيتَ، بعَتَادٍ جُنْبُل

وقال آخر في مثله:

إِذا انبَطَحتْ جافَى عن الأَرض بَطنُها،

وخَوَّأَها رَابٍ كهامَةِ جُنْبُل
