جاوي: هو لبان جاوة ويسمى أيضاً بخور جاوي: بخور وعطر جاوي ويراد به بخور وعطر سومطرة، لأن العرب اطلقوا على هذه الجزيرة اسم جاوة وفيها يكون أفضل اللبان بياضا وجودة (انظر معجم الأسبانية 239) وجاوي بري: اللبان الجاوي البري (بوشر).
