التبن. والثَّتَى: دُقاق التبن أَو حُسافَة التمر. وكل شيء حشوت به

غِرارة مما دَقّ فهو الثَّتَى؛ وأَنشد:

كأَنه غِرارةٌ مَلأَى ثَتى

ويروى: مَلأَى حَتَا. وقال أَبو حنيفة: الثَّتاةُ والثَّتَى قشر التمر

ورديئه.
