تَفِهَ، كفَرِحَ، تَفَهاً وتُفوهاً: قَلَّ، وخَسَّ،
وـ فُلانٌ تُفُوهاً: حَمُقَ. وكَنَصَرَ وسَمِعَ: غَثَّ.
وفي حدِيثِ ابنِ مسعودٍ: "القُرْآنُ لا يَتْفَهُ ولا يَنْتانُ"، أي: لا يَغَثُّ ولا يَخْلُقُ.
والأطْعِمَةُ التَّفِهَةُ: ما ليس له طَعْمُ حَلاَوَةٍ أو حُموضَةٍ أو مَرارةٍ، ومنهم مَن يَجْعَلُ الخُبْزَ واللَّحْمَ منها.
وابنُ تافِهٍ: محدِّثٌ.
وناقةٌ مُتْفَهَةٌ، كمُكْرَمَةٍ: ذَلُولٌ.
والتُّفَهُ، كثُبَةٍ: عَنَاقُ الأرضِ، فارِسيَّتُهُ: سِياهْ كُوْشْ.
