(تَيَحَ) التَّاءُ وَالْيَاءُ وَالْحَاءُ أَصْلٌ وَاحِدٌ، وَهُوَ قَوْلُهُمْ تَاحَ فِي مِشْيَتِهِ يَتِيحُ إِذَا تَمَايَلَ. وَفَرَسٌ مِتْيَحٌ وَتَيَِّحَانُ، إِذَا اعْتَرَضَ فِي مِشْيَتِهِ نَشَاطًا، وَمَالَ عَلَى قُطْرَيْهِ. وَرَجُلٌ مِتْيَحٌ وَتَيَِّحَانُ، أَيْ عِرِّيضٌ فِي كُلِّ شَيْءٍ. قَالَ الشَّاعِرُ فِي الْمِتْيَحِ:

أَفِي أَثَرِ الْأَظْعَانِ عَيْنُكَ تَلْمَحُ ... نَعَمْ لَاتَ هَنًّا إِنَّ قَلْبَكَ مِتْيَحُ

وَقَالَ فِي التَّيَِّحَانِ:

بِذَبِّي الذَّمَّ عَنْ حَسَبِي وَمَالِي ... وَزَبُّونَاتِ أَشْوَسَ تَيَِّحَانِ وَيُقَالُ أَتَاحَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى الشَّيْءَ يُتِيحُهُ إِتَاحَةً إِذَا قَدَّرَهُ. وَإِذَا قَدَّرَهُ لَهُ فَقَدْ أَمَالَهُ إِلَيْهِ. وَتَاحَ الشَّيْءُ نَفْسُهُ.
