[ت ر ف] التَّرَفُ: التَّنَعُّمُ. والتَّتْرِيفُ: حُسْنُ الغِداءِ. ورَجُلٌ مُتْرَف ومُتَرَّفٌ: مُوَسَّعُ عليه. وتَرَّفَ الرَّجُلَ وأَتْرَفَه: دَلَّلَه ومَلَّكَه، كرَفَّلَه. وقولُه تَعالَى: {إلا قال مترفوها} [سبأ: 34] أي: أُولُو التُّرْفِةِ، وأَرادَ: رُؤَساَها وقادَةَ الشَّرَّ منها. والتُّرَفَةُ: الطَّعامُ الطَّيِّبُ. وكُلُّ طُرْفَةٍ: تُرْفَةٌ. وأَتْرَفَ الرَّجُلَ: أَعْطاهُ شَهْوَتَهُ، هذِه عن اللِّحْيانِيِّ. وتَرِفَ النَّباتُ: تَرَوَّى. والتُّرْفَةُ: الهَنَّةُ النّاتِئَةُ في وَسَطِ الشَّفَةِ العُلْيا، وصاحِبهُا أَتْرَفُ. والتُّرفَةُ: مِسْقاةُ يُشْرَبَ بها.
