: (المَبْعُوتُ) ، بِالْعينِ والتّاءِ المُثَنّاة فِي آخِره. أَهمله الجَوْهَرِيُّ، وصاحبُ اللِّسان. وَقَالَ الصّاغانيُّ: هُوَ بِمَعْنى (المَبْعوت) ، كَمَا يُقَالُ للخبيث: خَبِيتٌ. وَقَالَ شيخُنا: استُعْمِل هاكذا من غير تصريف فِيهِ، وَلذَا قيلَ: إِنّه لحن، أَو لُثْغَة.
