بَلْشُوم وبَلْشُون: مالك الحزين. وهما لفظتان قبطيتان وتكتب مع أداة التعريف في اللغة القبطية وبلكون وبلكوب (زيشر لغة مصر القديمة 1868، ص56، 84). وفي المعجم اللاتيني: بُلشون: honocrotalus ويظن أن " Onocrotarus" باليونانية هو الغاق أو الغاقة.
