بيدق أو بيذق: تبيذق: لقد اشتق ابن الهبارية الفعل تبيذق من بيذق بمعنى صار بيذقاً كما اشتقوا تفرزن من فرزان أي صار فرزاناً. ففي ابن خلكان (7: 109):
وإذا البياذق في الدسوت تفرزنت ... فالرأي أن تتبيذق الفرزان
بيدق أو بيذق: جندي الشطرنج وتجمع على بياديق (المقري 1: 882) وصيغة أخرى لكلمة بودقة: بوتقة (معجم ابن جبير).
