[بعق] البُعاقُ بالضم: سحابٌ يتصبَّب بشدَّة. وقد انْبَعَقَ المُزْنُ، إذا انبعج بالمطر. وتبعق مثله. قال رؤبة: وجود هارون إذا تدفقا جود كجود الغيث إذا تبعقا والانبعاق: أن ينبعق عليك الشئ مفاجأة وأنت لا تشعر. قال الشاعر: بينما المرء آمن راعه رائع حتف لم يخش منه انْبِعاقَهْ وفي الحديث: " إن الله يكره الانْبِعاق في الكلام، فرحِمَ اللهُ عبداً أوجزَ في كلامه ". وَبَعَّقَتُ زِقَّ الخمر تَبْعِيقاً، أي شققته. وفي الحديث: " يُبَعِّقونَ لِقاحَنا " قال أبو عبيد: أي يَنحرون إبلنا ويسيلون دماءها. ويقال عقاب بعنقاة، مثل عبنقاة.
