ب د ل : الْبَدَلُ بِفَتْحَتَيْنِ وَالْبِدْلُ بِالْكَسْرِ وَالْبَدِيلُ كُلُّهَا بِمَعْنًى وَالْجَمْعُ أَبْدَالٌ وَأَبْدَلْته بِكَذَا إبْدَالًا نَحَّيْت الْأَوَّلَ وَجَعَلْت الثَّانِيَ مَكَانَهُ وَبَدَّلْته تَبْدِيلًا بِمَعْنَى غَيَّرْت صُورَتَهُ تَغْيِيرًا وَبَدَّلَ اللَّهُ السَّيِّئَاتِ حَسَنَاتٍ يَتَعَدَّى إلَى مَفْعُولَيْنِ بِنَفْسِهِ لِأَنَّهُ بِمَعْنَى جَعَلَ وَصَيَّرَ وَقَدْ اُسْتُعْمِلَ أَبْدَلَ بِالْأَلِفِ مَكَانَ بَدَلٍ بِالتَّشْدِيدِ فَعُدِّيَ بِنَفْسِهِ إلَى مَفْعُولَيْنِ لِتَقَارُبِ مَعْنَاهُمَا وَفِي السَّبْعَةِ {عَسَى رَبُّهُ إِنْ طَلَّقَكُنَّ أَنْ يُبْدِلَهُ أَزْوَاجًا خَيْرًا مِنْكُنَّ} [التحريم: 5] مِنْ أَفْعَلَ وَفَعَّلَ وَبَدَّلْت الثَّوْبَ بِغَيْرِهِ أَبْدَلَهُ مِنْ بَابِ قَتَلَ وَاسْتَبْدَلْته بِغَيْرِهِ بِمَعْنَاهُ وَهِيَ الْمُبَادَلَةُ أَيْضًا.
