الوقَص: قصر في العنق كأنه ردّ في جوف الصدر، والوقص: الكسر، والوقاصية: قرية بالسواد من ناحية بادوريا تنسب إلى وقّاص بن عبدة ابن وقاص الحارثي من بني الحارث بن كعب.
