النغف: بِالتَّحْرِيكِ الدُّود الَّذِي يكون فِي أنف الْإِبِل وَالْغنم كَذَا فِي الصِّحَاح فَافْهَم واحفظ فَإِنَّهُ ينفعك فِي يَأْجُوج وَمَأْجُوج.

النَّغَفُ، محرَّكةً: دُودٌ في أُنُوفِ الإِبِلِ والغَنَمِ، الواحدةُ: نَغَفَةٌ، أو دُودٌ أبيضُ يكونُ في النَّوَى المُنْقَعِ، أو دُودٌ عُقْفٌ تَنْسَلخُ عن الخَنَافِسِ ونحوِها،
وـ: ما تُخْرِجُه من أنْفِكَ من مُخاطٍ يابِسٍ ونحوِه، ومنه قالوا للمُسْتَحْقَرِ:
يانَغَفَةُ، محرَّكةً.
ولكلِّ رأسٍ في عَظْمَيْ وجْنَتَيْهِ نَغَفَتانِ، محرَّكةً، أي: عَظْمانِ، ومن تَحَرُّكِهِما يكونُ العُطاسُ.
ونَغِفَ البعيرُ، كفرِحَ: كَثُرَ نَغَفُهُ.
