المُنَافق: هو المُظهرُ لم يبطن خلافه وفي الاصطلاح: هو الذي يُظهر الإسلامَ ويبطن الكفر. والمنافقون كانوا في عهد النبي - صلى الله عليه وسلم - وقد أخبر الله تعالى نبيه بهم وخذلهم وجميعُهم بادوا في تلك الآونة أما الآن فلا يُطلق المنافق على أحد يظن أنه يُبطن الكفر إنما يطلق عليه المُلحِد أو الزنديق.
