هو ما يقول له النحويون: غير منصرف.
وأمّا عند البلغاء فهو ربط عدد من المصاريع بحيث لا يمكن بعد ذلك إضافة مصراع آخر، ومثاله ما ترجمته:
يد المعشوقة وقلبها، يدي وقلبي ماء وورد محبوبي وأنا ماء وطين هذا ما جعلني في ضيق وهو في سعة، أبد الدّهر فإضافة مصراع رابع غير ممكن ليس من جهة ضيق القافية أو صعوبتها، بل من حيث ارتباط النظم. كذا في جامع الصنائع.
