المَفْرق: وسط الرأس وهو الذي يُفرق فيه الشعرُ، ومن الطريق الموضعُ الذي ينشعب منه طريق آخر. والفرْقُ: خلاف الجمع هو ما افترق به الشيئان وجمعُه الفروق وقد مَّر.
